They said it couldn't be done. As a nation watched on in fascination, the little music festival that could reproduced itself spawning what is now know as Noise Pop Chicago. Proud sibling/parent San Francisco watched on as the new kid on the block diversified and expanded the formula that has made Noise Pop a cultural phenomena for almost a decade. Each festival featured a unique line-up representative of that city's independent music scene.

This year, the SF festival expanded to include films and an educational series, and Chicago explored new musical landscapes via a partnership with the Empty Bottle Festival of Jazz and Improvised Music. Both events benefited from the poster artwork of Shepard Fairey (obeygiant). If you missed the shows but are interested in the bands that played, download some of their music and browse the sites.
