Aviette
Aviette is Minneapolis-based band made up of Holly Muñoz (guitar/vocals), Justin Hartke (bass), and Kyle Larson (drums) whose music is best described as progressive but accessible indie rock. Holly Muñoz, singer and guitarist, only picked up a guitar five years ago and had not performed in front of people before starting Aviette. She was on her way to a post doctorate degree program in photography in Italy when she decided to start a band instead. Aviette’s genesis took place at the music store Guitar Center, where Justin worked. He sold Holly an electric guitar and a week later they were forming a band. Aviette writes all their own songs together collaboratively and also launched their own label in 2006, and released their own second album on July 1, 2008.
