Cynsin
Formed in 2006 by Jackson Blacklock with his pal Rob Huntley in Austin, Texas, synthpop band Cynsin makes songs that are infectiously danceable, injecting their lyrics with a bit of humor, as seen in songs such as “Put It Where It Goes.” Though their sound is difficult to pin down exactly, being vaguely reminiscent of Pet Shop Boys on one song and Gil Mantera’s Party Dream on another, Cynsin have been likened to Ima Robot, Prince and Kraftwerk rolled into one package — one sexy, robotastic package. Their album, _tacular, is out now.
