The Parson Red Heads
Family bands like the Parson Red Heads are popping up everywhere lately. Between Avett Brothers and Watson Twins, family acts are signifiers of the close bonds gathered in upbringing that maybe go missing among friends and collaborators. The Parson Red Heads are made up of siblings raised on The Byrds and other sunny 60’s psychedelic gems. Based in the equally shiny L.A. music scene, the Parson Red Heads translate their throwback styling as easily in jam sessions as the occasional somber acoustic melodies. And of course there is plenty of the required multi-part harmonies and sweetly sun drenched riffs along the way.
