SEIU is the largest Union in the country, representing hospital and healthcare workers, doormen and other service employees. We all became friends last year in Austin when they partnered with us at our show and Zach Galifianakis helped educate everyone about their healthcare rights. It was funny and enlightening all at the same time... Now they are taking on Private Equity and once again Noise Pop had the privilege of teaming up with them to produce our first short film starring hilarious political comedian Lewis Black, directed by Antonino D'Ambrosio of La Lutta Films and featuring original music by Radio 4. Bandwidth Music I Technology Conference 2008 August 14 & 15, 2008
The Bandwidth Music | Technology Conference 2008 will take place August 14 & 15 in San Francisco in the Bandwidth HQ atop Nob Hill. The Bandwidth Conference is for music and technology professionals and focuses on the evolving musical experience. Bandwidth features conversations with movers and shakers, as well as a chance to interact with others in an intimate environment - the right people in the right space in numbers that make it easy to connect. Topics focus on marketing, fan behavior, trends and future forecasts, and an examination of the ways people discover, purchase, interact with, and are exposed to music.
The Bandwidth Music | Technology Conference kickoff cocktail party will also double as a celebration of the launching of a collaboration between the Bandwidth Conference and Noise Pop, San Francisco's venerable music festival now in its 17th year.
The Bandwidth Conference is known for bringing together over 200 of the movers and shakers in the music, digital music, online music and media worlds in an intimate and unique gathering. This year's conference takes place this week on August 14 & 15 in San Francisco, and explores the evolving musical experience, with panels on marketing, fan behavior, trends and future forecasts, and an examination of the ways people discover, purchase, interact with, and are exposed to music. Keynote conversations are Jonathan Poneman co-Founder of Sub Pop Records; influential music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas of Chop Shop Music; and Susan Bonds, CEO/Founder, and Alex Lieu, Chief Creative Officer, of 42 Entertainment, the Pasadena-based agency that designed the groundbreaking experience to generate buzz around the much-anticipated Nine Inch Nails album Year Zero.
Panels include "Brand" which looks at artist partnerships with companies and other entities, "Upcoming Releases" which forecasts the electronic devices that will influence the musical and fan experience, and "Master of Their Domain" which examines the possibilities and realities for established artists who bypass a label and create a central hub for their music and fans.

At Thursday's cocktail party, Bandwidth and Noise Pop will celebrate a joint collaboration to be launched at 2009's Noise Pop Festival, which takes place in late February and early March. The Noise Pop Festival annually hosts six-nights of unforgettable performances by nationally-known indie rock, electronic, punk and cutting edge musical artists teamed up with the best local bands, transforming San Francisco into an almost week-long celebration of the finest that the underground and not-so-underground has to offer. In addition to the live music, Noise Pop Festival also offers films, art shows, and an indie designer trunk sale. The collaboration with the Bandwidth Conference will add a daytime conference and expo to the mix, and will feature educational panels and discussions featuring music industry professionals.
