Cryptacize
Cryptacize is an experimental indie-folk outfit with a mind for melody and a penchant for simplicity. Hailing from the East Bay, they released their first full length Dig That Treasure in 2008 and are working on their upcoming release, due out in April 2009. Nedelle Torrisi’s vocals are laid hauntingly over Chris Cohen’s (formerly of Deerhoof) varied guitar work and Michael Carrera’s unpredictable drums (played on a miniature drum set, no less!). Recently welcoming a fourth member, bassist Aaron Olson, Cryptacize are making their indelible mark on the independent music map. VERONICA YOUNG
